Monarchs Announce Signing of Cory Ward

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Rich Seeley, announced today that Cory Ward has signed a Standard Player Contract for the 2017-18 season.

The Monarchs are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Los Angeles Kings.

Ward, 23, returns to the Monarchs after scoring 37 points on 16 goals and 21 assists in his rookie season. The right-shot forward added five points on one goal and four assists in 17 Kelly Cup Playoff games.

The 5-foot-11, 201-pound native of Las Vegas, Nev., played collegiately at Bemidji State University where he skated in 151 career games over a four-year career, and scored 80 points on 45 goals and 35 assists.

In his short career, Ward has logged 10 games in the AHL between the St. John’s IceCaps and Syracuse Crunch, and has recorded four assists.

Ward and the Monarchs open the 2017-18 season Oct. 14, when they begin the season against the Worcester Railers at the DCU Center (7:05 p.m.).

The Monarchs open their home slate at SNHU Arena against the Railers on Oct. 21 (6 p.m.). Opening Night Packs include four tickets to the game, and are on sale for just $40, HERE.
